"GreenWear" wearables and Sculptures

We have become a disposable society.  Once upon a time, we used and re-used our clothing.  Holes mended and stains hidden.  Once worn beyond original use, clothing was repurposed.   A beloved wedding gown would be passed down bride to bride... eventually to be cut into christening gowns for children.

So, what has happened?

A small stain or rip is now seen as reason do discard clothing.  Some will end up being donated to charity thrift stores, which beats the alternative of being tossed into a landfill.   A fashion fad will be followed for a season or two... then that clothing will be cast aside, never to be worn again.  What senseless waste!

I am now on a personal crusade to do my part to change this mindset.   Clothing can be 'up-cycled" to a higher purpose.  Using clothing or remnant fabric as raw material, it can see new life as  unique fashion or piece of art.  Trust me... few things are as luscious as felted cashmere.

It's never the end... merely a new beginning.
